Sisterhood Monthly Swap Fall

Happy Fall Y'all! I can't believe that another year is almost over. Where did the time go? All I can say is that I'm glad that fall is finally here. Summer was so dreadfully hot and then we had that crazy earthquake followed by Hurricane Irene. Hopefully the winter will be peaceful. My card is for a monthly swap that I am in with a group of wonderful ladies. This month's swap is hosted by Paola. She has given us the challenge to come up with a fall themed card. For my card I used a layout from PaperCrafts Magazine. My card is a gift card holder. Many of the ladies in the group love Starbucks and some can't get enough of the Fall flavors of Pumpkin Spice or Salted Caramel Mochas. Since most of us are not co-located to share a cup of coffee together, then this was the next best thing I could think of. The designer paper is an oldie from K&Company. The ribbon is from Stampin' up. The scallop border, sentiment, and die-cut flower are from Papertrey Ink. I hope the girls like it since this is a very different type of card me since I mostly like to coloring with my copics and there isn't even an image to color on this card.

Cheery Card Kit

Good morning all! It has been a while since my bestest girlies, Kadie and Sandra, and I have done a card kit. Miss Kadie is the responsible person for this absolutely fun kit. She always picks some of the best papers and includes tons of embelishments. Of course, being the embellie challenged person that I am, I did manage to use 4 of the 10 embellishments she sent. You will have to pay a visit to Kadie's blog for deets on the image and papers. As always I colored the images with copic markers. I kept my design pretty much clean and simple. I can't wait to see what they designed. I miss you girls!

Just on a side note, I read the Hunger Games Trilogy in about 1.5 weeks and must say that I enjoyed them a lot and can't wait for the movie to come out in the spring. Of course, I also can't wait for the next Twlight movie to come out either.

Ahead of the Trend

Hello all. I have a card to show you today that I made for a monthly card swap group that I am in. The guidance for this month was to keep it minimal. No more than two layers including the base. No more than two embellishments. Now the inspiration for my card has been all the white/yellow/grey color combos I've been seeing on pinterest. I like think I may have been ahead of the trend when I designed my Greeting Farm card with those colors over a year ago. You have to understand I'm normally behind the curve on any type of trend so to be ahead for once is a shocker. Here is my CAS card for the swap. I hope the girls like it.

For my card I used a white PTI base. I then stamped the Tim Holtz flourish in Stampin' Up Going Grey. The desinger papers are from Cosmo Cricket and October Afternoon. The ribbon is by Stampin' Up. I create a the flower by free hand cutting three different sized circles and scrunching them. I glued the layers together and added the button and ribbon. I then stamped the sentiment from PTI.

Local Scrapbook Store Samples

A little scrapbook store set up shop in an old water mill I think last summer. They have all kinds of goodies that you can't get at the local chain stores. Plus they have an accu-cut set-up. Here is a picture of the building they are located in.

They asked me to make a few samples with some of the products they are carrying. It was fun to play with the papers and the images. I hope they like them.

It's gonna be a BRIGHT and SUNSHINY day for sure at The Greeting Farm! Hooray!

Here is my project using the My Fairy Princess set:

I thought this little fairy reminded me a little of Marilyn Monroe, so I tried to go a litte bit simple elegance with the yellow and black color scheme. I added some little half pearls to the butterflies and the fairy dress. The wings were glitterfied with diamond stickles and then some glitter was used for the fairy dust trailing below her.

We are SO excited to begin today's hop combining some TGF 'alum' with our Farmers! A Clear View of What is New at the Farm!

Hey, everyone!

I am back to fully reveal what may have been just a cloudy snippet yesterday... did you see through our little surprise or are you CLEARLY stumped?

Well, wonder no more because some of the cherished members of the TGF alum along with the Farmers are thrilled to bring you a BRAND NEW line by TGF:

CLEAR STAMPS!!!!

INTRODUCING.....MY FAIRY PRINCESS and BANTASTIC

Before we go any further, these stamps are not replacing our rubber line. We are testing the waters to bring you some fun new designs, and most of all QUALITY stamps! To add to the fun, we also have the opportunity to bring you some RE-RELEASES, in addition to NEW releases and we are excited to get started with our first two sets!

For my card I used My Fairy Princess and the background behind the mushrooms is Blush Hello. I colored these sweet fairies and fun mushrooms with copics. I distressed the edges of the green background paper. The paper flowers are handcut circles that have been crinkled and adorned with some yellow half pearls. The yellow and white twine was a purchase that I made while in Washington at the Impress store that Miss Kadie took me to while I was there on business. For the fairy wings, I stamped the image of the fairies on vellum and did a careful cut around the wings and a rough cut everywhere else. I then attached the wings to the colored images of the fairies that I had cut out and left the wings off.

A Walk in the City

Just a quick stop by with a card that I made for Jen's Deconstucted Sketch Challenge #4. This week they have the most awesome company around as their sponsor...The Greeting Farm! Of course I had to play along this week. The Greeting Farm gave me my first DT experience and best of all I've made many friendships that will always hold a special place in my heart. The image is Harlow from the Creepin' Crew Collection at TGF. I colored Harlow with copics and paired her with some Basic Grey and PTI. I made the paper flower from left over scraps and added some tulle tails. I need refreshen my skills on hair because I'm not really happy at this ones turned out. Okay now it is time for me to go to bed. I think I will probably needs a Starbucks run in the morning so that I am not a zombie at work with the 3.5 of sleep I'm going to get tonight. In Seattle

When I was on a training trip for work in Seattle, I got to visit with my dear friend and mega talented Kadie in the evenings. It had been a long time since I had consistantly created cards, but that visit really helped me get motivated to start creating again and reconnect with many of the girls that I used to swap cards with monthly. On one of those nights I created a card using Miss Kadie's supplies. She wanted me to do a card with a Mo Manning image. Now I must say that I am very intimidated by Mo's images. Most of them are so sweet and detailed that I don't feel my skills will capture them appropriately, but Kadie had faith in me.

I'm glad she had faith me because I really do like how this cutie turned out. It reminds me of my little one and how she always likes to help me in the kitchen especially with cookie and cupcake making. I believe the designer paper is from My Mind's Eye Stella Rose collection. I created the flower by free hand cutting circles then smooshing them to get a crumpled look. I then attached the circles together with a brad. I colored the image with copics and distressed the edges of the images and designer papers with Tim Hotlz distressing ink.

Well it is back to work tomorrow. I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Happy Friday all! I have a lot planned for this weekend since I have four days off! Woohoo! Some of it is cleaning house, yard work, baking, and hopefully I will get to play with making some cards too. I've really been enjoying getting back into card making. I'm finding lots of stamps that need some attention like this Suzette Ketto from Stamping Bella. I made this card for a very special friend and many of you may know her...Sandra. Her birthday is tomorrow and while she is taking a break for the summer, hop on over to her blog to wish her a Happy Birthday!

Today my card uses the Sweet Sunday Sketch #118. I paired the Ketto with some My Mind's Eye Stella Rose collection. The background polka dot paper is from something like Canvas Home(?), not your normal company name. The sentiment and the newsprint on the flower is from Papertrey Ink. I used some packing paper with a PTI flower die and cut out 6 layers, scrunched it up, and spritzed it with glimmer mist. I attached the layers together with a brad. I colored the Ketto with copics, used a black spica pen on her hair and black parts of her clothes, then added diamond stickles to her dress.

Howdy all!!! I finally have another card to share with you. This card is for a swap group that I am in on Splitcoast. It has been a while since I have participated in the swap. When I took a work travel trip to Seattle I was able to meet up with my bud Kadie and meet for the first time, Fay from the group. They gave me the inspiration I needed to get it in gear. It just so happens that this month's theme was chosen by Fay. The theme is "Man" cards and this is what I came up with. I kept the sentiment a bit generic so that it could be used for several occassions. I hope the girls like it.

For my card, I used the sketch from Jen's Deconstructed Sketch Challenges. The image is Dunder by Doodlefactory. The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie. I used Basic Grey paper and PTI cardstock. The clouds were made with a die from Amuse. I paper pieced Dunder's clothes and colored him with copics.

Diggin' for Gold

Good day all!!! I'm sooo excited for today's post because I'm sharing it with my two of my best girlies, Kadie and Sandra! It has been a looooong time since we have done a card kit and this one was sent out by me quite some time ago, but due to all our schedules it has been hard to get this bad boy posted. Today is the day though and I can't wait to see what the other girls did with their kit. What was in the kit you ask? Well there was a couple images of this boogie boy Zed from The Doodle Factory Creatures II set, a few stamped sentiments from the same set, Prima Marketing designer paper, and some embellishments.

For my card I colored Zed up with copics and placed him on Papertrey Ink Die Mat Stack #4 cut-outs. I used my white Jelly Roll pen to add the white dot border on the mat and used the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to staple the ribbon. I colored the background of the sentiment with a yellow copic then free hand cut the words and matted them with black cardstock.

I can hardly believe that March is around the corner and what better way to bring it in then this kite flying cutie Sugar Stick? This oldie but goodie of mine was kept simple using a piece of cloud paper from my scrap pile. The image was colored with copics and the cheeks were colored with chalks.

Big City Thank You

Boy it has been a long time since my last card. I really needed a break and I'm sorry for just disappearing. I'm ready to get back into posting a card or two a week. I need to start slow though because I definitely don't want to get burned out.

A friend of mine sent me a super cool stamp set of the Empire State Building and taxi cab from Yellow Owl Workshop NYC. I think distributed by Pottery Barn. When I saw this Basic Grey Wander paper in my stash, I thought it would be the perfect front drop to the ESB. I added some red stickles to the top of the ESB because you know there is a Weedle up there. There is some Crystal Effects on the windows and headlight of the cab, but that doesn't show up very well. The clouds and rolling green hills paper are from K&Company Actopus to Zelephant. This card is going to thank my friend for the fabulous set.

Farm Fresh Friday Challenge

Happy Friday all! This is my last TGF post as a DT member. I've had to step down due to higher work load at my job and tyring to balance that with family life. TGF was my very first DT exposure and to be part of such a growing and talented company and group of gals has just been amazing. Thank you Marie and Jess for giving this opportunity. I have enjoyed every minute of it. Even the late late night ones. LOL. I can't even begin to express how much I appreciate all the support and even more so the friendships that have been made mean to me. I know I'm going to anticipate seeing the new releases every month and the weekly challenges. When time allows...I will play along too. Thanks to all the customers and followers of The Greeting for your support and all your kind words on my creations. I really appreciate it.

Now onto the challenge, the talented Farmer Mercy has given us a fabulous sketch to with this week. Here is my card:

I used the boy from this month's Sweet & Toxic set. Isn't he a feast for the eyes? When I was coloring him I had the song "Send me an Angel" by Real Life running through my head. I guess that is why I was drawn to the Tim Holtz music paper. Some of the other papers are Graphics 45 and My Mind's Eye. I popped this guy on pop dots and glue his wings to th ebase to give a little more dimension.

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #11! Thanks to everyone who played along last week! This week's challenge is a fall Challenge. So get out your leaf and pumpkin colors or even your halloween collection.

For my card I used Fall Charlotte. I colored Charlotte with copics and paired her with this fabby October Afternoon paper. I added a little flower to the sentiment to pull in the red on the leaf and added some half pearls to fancy up the card a bit. I thought it would be kind of neat to color the pumpkins different colors. The big one is a white one.

Farm Fresh Friday Goes Old School

Sorry my post is late...I thought I had it all ready to go...apparently that wasn't the case.

"TGF is goin' OLD SCHOOL! In honor of Back to School time, we thought we'd do a traditional "Back to School" challenge until Jess and Marie decided, why not go OLD SKOOL?

So here's the deal.

In order to be considered truly OLD SCHOOL, it's easier to limit the stamps to what you cannot use vs. what you can: You CANNOT use:

For my card I used Angel Anya with some slight modification. She lost her wings and halo and I added in a few extensions where the wings were. LOL. I colored this lovely with copics and paired her some fabulous Cosmo Cricket paper. I paper pieced her dress and bow. Then I added a few flowers, buttons, and pearls to draw your eyes around the card.

This contest will be opened for a few weeks. The winner of this contest will be crowned OLD SCHOOL CHAMP and receive the ENTIRE October release along with an old, smelly pair of Converse All-Stars aka Chuck Taylors!! (ok, KIDDING on the latter prize!)

A runner up will ALSO win a 4x6 set of their choice! This will be a random contest, but hey, why not a runner up too? :)

I'm baaaa-ack and boy do I have a cutie for you! This is Ian and he is dressed up like a skeleton for Halloween. He is also available in The Greeting Farm store today. Just in time for your Halloween projects. As always I used my copics to color Ian. I paired him with some more Pink Paislee paper and the skull paper is form My Mind's Eye. How perfect is that?

The Farm is Getting Ready for Halloween Preview

Can you believe Halloween is around the corner? Where has this year gone? Do you and/or your little ones have costumes picked out? What was your favorite costume as a kid? I had a knack for mish-mashing costumes. One year I dressed up as a witch but had rainbow clown hair coming out of my hat. I wish I had a picture of that. Then the another year I think I wore one of those plastic smocks that had a smurf body on it with a King Kong mask. Those costumes must have been hand-me downs from cousins because I'm sure my parents wouldn't have bought two fits. Now that I have my own house we always hand out a snack pack of Sour Patch Kids and Swedish fish. The kids just love those. We normally have about 150 kids come to the nighborhood.

Okay back to the real reason you are here. The Greeting Farm is releasing Halloween Digis on Wednesday and the DT wanted to bring you some inspiration with all those peeks that you saw earlier on the Farm blog. My card uses a Creeper Halloween Bride. Isn't she just a scream? This is my first green skin and I must say that I really like how it turned out. I paired this ghoulish gal with some fabby Pink Paiselee paper. I did add some Clear Stardust gelly roll to the white part of her hair. Of course that was a bit hard to capture on camera.

For my card I used Farming Oliver. I colored Oliver with copics and paired him with this fabby October Afternoon paper. I added a little flower with a cream colored button. I thought it was kind of funny having "The Rooster" words behind Oliver. Makes me want to crow like a rooster. Okay maybe not, but it would be funny.

It's me again! I hope you enjoyed all the DT peeks over the past few days. Remember how I mentioned my 4 yo daughter wants to be Max for Halloween. Well I found a costume for her on Etsy. I think she will like it. I will probably have my own Wild Thing running around the house. LOL. I can't wait to see it. Sparkle Creations is releasing this cute Farmer Oliver today. Isn't he a dreamy? As I was making this card I kept thinking of Tim McGraw's song "Where the green grass grows." For my card, I colored Oliver with copics and paired him with some October afternoon paper I bought last fall. I just love this sweet image.

This week's challenge is brought to you by the super awsome Farmer Melyssa and it is called "You Move Me' Challenge add something to the card that moves. Could be a flower that spins, shaker box, slider card or maybe a tag that pulls out. Anything that will move! For my card I made a compass to guide little Oliver on his trails. The compass needle actually spins. I colored Oliver with copics.

I also wanted to show my scrapbook page for the scrapbook sketch challenge. I was a bit late in getting it now. My daughter is 1.5 in that picture. She is 4 yo now.

Sparkle Creations Release Day Peak II

Hi all I'm back! I hope you have been enjoying your peeks so far. It is hard to believe Halloween is just around the corner. I think my 4 yo daughter has been picking what costume she wanted at least twice a week since last Halloween with each costume changing. She is talking about being Max from Where the Wild Things Are. Speaking of Halloween...Sparkle Creations will be releasing this fun Broomstick Lucy on Saturday. Isn't she a cutie? For my card, I colored Lucy with copics and paired her with some Cloud 9 paper I bought last fall. A few buttons along with a little ribbon and there you have it.

Please welcome this month's awesome guest designer Risa West. She has such a super sweet style and knows the perfect embellishment to accent her artwork. I need lessons.

Sparkle Creations Release Day Peak

Hi all! I hope you are enjoying your week so far. I was hoping the week would be cooler than mid-90s but it looks like we are still in a heat wave. I can't wait for fall for cooler temperatures, great food, and family/friend gatherings. Speaking of fall...Sparkle Creations will be releasing this lovely Fall Charlotte on Saturday. I love her vintage style. For my card, I colored Charlotte with copics and paired her with some Michael's brand paper (Recollections) I bought last fall. A few buttons and flowers along with a little ribbon and there you have it.

Sparkle Creations Tuesday Challenge

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #9! Thanks to everyone who played along last week! This week's challenge is a Button and Bling Challenge. I actually organzied all buttons by colors this weekend into a photo bin tote that holds 12 different compartments. My buttons are easy to find now.

For my card I used Cruisin' Chloe. I colored Chloe with copics and paired her with this fabby October Afternoon and Basic Grey. I added some Clear Stardust around the chrome parts to make them Sparkle, but you can't really see that in the picture. I also added some rhinestones in the corners of the image panel and on the center of the flower. I used a button for the center of my handcut and crinkled flower.

Farm Fresh Friday "Rule of 3's on the 3rd"

Happy Friday all! Boy am I ready for a long weekend. Not only will I have Friday off but I will also have Monday off. Woohoo! Although we are keeping an eye on Hurricane Earl's path, I think the weekend will actually end up being nice and below 90. This summer has been soooo hot and I'll be happy for the cooler fall weather.

This week's challenge at the Greeting Farm blog is the Rule of Threes. You must use three designer papers and three different types of embellishments. For my card I used Cheeky Mate of the Cheeky Cherry Collection. I love her vintage look. So for my three's I used three colors: red, white, and blue. I used three designer papers: the blue stars on the red background, the USA panel, and the blue firework paper is in the flowers. My three embellishments: handmade paper flowers, silver brads, and a scallop edge. I also made three flowers and the background and cross panel are made of three layers. I love THREE. It is my favorite number.

Sparkle Creation Challenge Tuesday

For my card I used Traveling Josh. I colored Josh with copics and paired him with this fun traveling paper by Deja Vu. I pulled in some of the red and golds from the table then use the blues, greens, and browns from the trees, water, and sand. I should have made his shorts a lighter khaki though.

Farm Fresh Friday Sketch and a Preview

Hey everyone!

SWEET SEPTEMBER is ALMOST here! You know what that means?

It's time for another Farm Fresh Friday challenge but we have a SPECIAL treat for you today...and it's just as SWEET as it is TOXIC??? Yep, you guessed it...we are previewing a BRAND NEW set "Sweet and Toxic" to release this coming Wednesday, September 1st at The Greeting Farm!

EXCITED? Well, perhaps you'll be even MORE excited to know that our new CREEPER CREW sets are going to be released as 4x6 stamp sets WITH sentiments! How SWEET is that? You're probably noticing that all of this is just a LITTLE more sweet than toxic, huh?

Well let's show off these sassy new additions with some cards from the Farmers using Mercy's sketch as your challenge this week on the TGF Blog:

And here's my card:

I colored the image with copics and dusted the eyes and cheeks with some chalks. I think the papers are something like Market Street 29. I had to some more of those fun circle flowers. The best part of them is you can make them the size you need and use your left over scraps to make them coordinate. Pretty cool. I mostly stuck with shades of grey and purple. Since there was a splash of green in the stripe paper I colored the Creeper's eyes a similar shade.

One more announcement here on the TGF Farmer Front...today we sadly say a (bitter)SWEET goodbye to two of our dear, dear Farmers, Kadie and Cindy :( WAAAAAAHHHHH!!!! Please I need tissues I'm a mess. It's hard to believe these two beautiful souls have been Farmer's for a year already, isn't it? Parting is SWEET sorrow, indeed, and I'm not just saying that :( On behalf of Marie, Jess, and ALL of TGF, we say a SUPER DUPER Thank you to these two wonderful ladies and just KNOW that you'll never be FAR from the Farm! Claudia and Company Holding Onto Summer

It is hard to believe that summer is almost over. Kiddos started back to school today. Next year my little one will be on that big yellow bus. Snif, snif. I think this summer has got to be the busiest summer I have ever had. I've been trying to do some much neglected cleaning and maintenance stuff around the house, summer is always a busy time at work, and then just wanting to squeeze in a little time for myself to do DT fun stuff. The end of August means my days on the Claudia & Company DT are coming to an end. It has been such an honor to work with such a fabulous team and the images are just so super cute to create with. Thanks to the whole team. I've had a wonderful time. I have a couple more cards that I will show on Monday.

For my cards I used Ella and Sammy Elephant along with a Sugar Stick Girl. You can get these images at Die Cuts R Us. Oh and just to tempt you a little more they are having a copic sale that ends on August 28th...so go check them out. All three images are colored with copics. I used scraps on my first card and I can't remember what all the papers are. The second card uses Basic Grey and the last one uses K&Company. I have got to say that I really love making the flowers that are on the Pink Ella card. I just free hand cut circle of varying sizes, smoosh them up, attach them together with glue, then finish them off with a brad, button, or other bling.

Sparkle Creations Tuesday Challenge

Whether your paper takes you to some island get-away or your image is on the move or visiting some destination...just make your card travel related.

For my card I used Suitcase Ruby. I colored Ruby with copics and paired her with this fun traveling paper by Little Yellow Bicycle. Fancy Pants. I added some prima flowers and half pearls to help tie in all the colors.

Farm Fresh Friday Color Splash

Happy Friday all! I'm soooo glad it is Friday AND my off Friday. I got a new position as a Lead at work a couple of weeks ago and it has been an extreme learning curve. I've jumped in head first and just hope the water is deep. I will say that days go by extremely quick now. My brain is ready for a little rest though. Today I plan to take a trip to the Annapolis Mall. DD and I have a 2 yo's birthday to attend. So I need to go pick out an outfit. Then I want to go to Williams-Sonoma and get an Ebilskiver pancake pan. Then off to Wholefoods to try and stock the pantry with some good healthy food.

It is challenge day on the Greeting Farm Blog. Today we have a color challenge for you. Green, Blue, and Orange. For my card I used Oliver from the My Favorite Things Set. Isn't he adorable? Don't spill the fish water Oliver! I colored the image with copics and paired him with this fun Little Yellow Bicycle paper. I also used my Tim Holtz tiny attacher to adhere the SU ribbon. The felt star is from Making Memories. The plain cardstock is Papertry Ink and Stampin' Up.

Claudia & Company Digi Release

Happy Sunday all. I hope you are allenjoying what is left of your weekend. It seems like the weekend has just flown by to me. I'm working on getting laundry done and all the beds washed. It is hard to believe that we are in August already. In a couple short weeks the roads will be filled with the yellow school buses in the mornings and afternoons. Next fall my little DD will start school {sniff, sniff}. So to help bring in the school year Claudia & Company has released a cute digi Teacher set in the Sugar Stick line. You can find this awesome set at Die Cuts R Us.

For my card I colored the image with my copics and paired her some mor eof that fabulous DCWV school paper. I printed the sentiment out on my printer as I printed this image up. Actually I printed several different ones and settled for this one. I thought it would be a great back to school card for a teacher.

Sparkle Creations Release Day!

It is release day at Sparkle Creations!!! Yay! Today I have the final stamp being released. Cruisin' Chloe. Doesn't she just look dashing in her lime green bug? I colored Chloe with copics and used an old Cosmo Cricket stack. The sentiment is also from that stack. I put some gelly roll sparkles on the chrome portions of the car. For the layout, I used Sketch Saturday #116. I hope you enjoyed all the sneak peeks from the awesomely talented DT.

My card uses Puddle Jumper Christian that you can get from Die Cuts R Us. I colored him with markers and paired him with some fabulous Bo Bunny papers. I paper pieced the bucket and added two fun buttons.

Farm Fresh Friday - What's your lucky number?

Happy Friday 13th! Thank you for joining me on my first post for today. I have three so stay tuned for the rest. This week's Farm Fresh challenge is to incorporate numbers into your card. I know mine is a bit cryptic, but I love odd numbers and my favorite of them is 3. As you can see I have 3 panels, 3 flowers, and 3 buttons. I think three is just right. It isn't too much and it isn't too little. Two heads are better than one, except when you can't agree. Then it is good to have that third head. Plus things always happens in threes. Do you have a lucky number?

My card uses the Cheeky Cherry Nurse and I think that I will give it to the DH since our 11 year anniversary is coming up at the end of the month. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. We have actually been together for 20 years. What can I say...high school sweethearts. I know...awwwww. Well back to the card I used some more American Craft paper and colored this Cheeky up with copics. In fact this is one of the images I colored up when Kadie and Sandra came to visit.

Happy Thursday all! I'm back with another post and this one is in an area out of my comfort zone...scrapbook pages. For this 8x8 scrapbook page I decided to create a page around my favorite subject, my daughter. Here she picking strawberries for the first time. I took her this past spring and she had lots of fun. Although I think she enjoyed her ice cream sandwich more than picking the strawberries. For my page I used My Mind's Eye papers and Amelia from the My Fav Thing set. The sentiment is from the Spotlight Kit. Farmer Mercy created the fabulous sketch for the scrap page challenge.

Sparkle Creations Tuesday Challenge

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #5! Thanks to everyone who played along last week! This week's challenge is an embossing challenge. Use your favorite technique to get that raised design on your cards. You can do dry or wet embossing. My card uses dry embossing on the red designer paper:

For my card I used Turntable Josh. I colored Josh with copics and paired him with this cool Fancy Pants paper. I added washi tape to the image and did some dry embossing on the red porption of the paper. For the black and red panels, I hand ripped the papers for a torn edge look.

My card uses My Guy Ian from the newly released Later Sk8eR set. He is colored with copics and paired with some Basic Grey papers. I paper pieced the skate board. I also added some nail head brads and called it good. I flipped the sketch to better fit My Guy.

Sparkle Creations Challenge Tuesday

For my card I used Charlotte With a Rose. I colored her with copics and paired this lovely with October Afternoon. I even added sitching around the two different borders. One straight and the other zig-zag. And of course I added the buttons

Now for my card I used Creeper Friday. Isn't she just so cool? I also used the other Farm Fresh Friday Challenge Sketch. We would love it if you could play along this week. I colored Miss Friday up with copics and paired her with some My Mind's eye, Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon, and Basic Grey paper. I free hand cut circles and smooshed them to create the flowers. It is release day for Claudia & Company and boy are the images being released so super cute! They scream fun in the sun and sand. I can't think of a better way to enjoy summer. All these cuties are available now at Die Cuts R Us!

For my cards, I used an old DCWV school pack. The sentiments are also from the paper pack. I just cut around the words to make them fit in the spaces that I needed. The images are colored with copics. On my Landon card I used some Basic Grey brads. I haven't used brads in quite a while. The big scallop border on the Lucy card was created with a Papertry Ink border die.

Hey Everyone! As promised, I'm back for another RAD preview from The Greeting Farm! We are SO excited to bring you another preview today, a new 4x6 sheet featuring a Miss Anya AND a My Guy Ian: "Later Sk8R" This adorable and hip new set will be available for purchase beginning on Sunday, August 1st! It's been a WHILE since we did either one of these beloved characters in rubber, so the BUZZ is all about the Farm that this is one FUN set!

Today we are also teaming up, Farmers and Team Anya alike for another sample soiree! Today it's OUR turn to play along w/ Team Anya using a FABULOUS Saturday Sketch challenge by Pam!

Here's the sketch:

My card uses Anya from the L8R SK8R set. I colored her with copics and paired her with various October Afternoon papers. For some reason when I did my card, the squares didn't register and I thought they were two panels on either side. That is what happens when you try to rely on your memory and you are tired. As you can see I rotated and flipped the sketch so that the button are on the right hand side.

For my card I used the sassy Creeper Tuesday and paired her with some October Afternoon and DCWV. She is colored with copics and I crinkled some designer paper and punched out the flowers. I distressed the edges of the background and brown circles. Then it needed a little stitching and ink distressing on the base.

We have a winner! Thank you all for playing along. It was sooo much fun reading everyone's responses even if nobody got all the answers right. I thought maybe you all would switch up answers from blog to blog, but you didn't have to be right to win the candy.

I hope you all had a great weekend. My was super busy starting with Friday. We had our front door replaced on Friday(now I have some painting to do), I had a beginners digital photography class on Saturday, and then Sunday is always household chore day. I did manage to get a bunch of coloring done over the weekend. So once I get my images to cards I should pretty much caught up from what has been a very busy summer. And hear I thought I was going to be taking it easy. LOL. Of course now all the fall activities are just around the corner. I will be glad when fall gets here because I'm tired of these muggy 95+ degree days.

Farm Fresh Friday Use Your Floss and Have Some Cake!

Happy Birthday Jess!!!

Today is Jess's birthday and in addition to the Farm Fresh challenge, we have joined forces with Club Anya and few other's to wish Jess THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVAH!!!! She does so much for her DTs. She is the organizing queen. I don't know how she does it and manages to maintain a bubbly and sunshiny personality, but I'm so greatful to have her as my DT Coordie. Thank you Jess for all you do. I hope you have a fabulous birthday girlie! Now if you are joining in on the Birthday hop for Jess your next stop is Mercy. Now onto this week's Farm Fresh Challenge. Your mission should you choose to accept it is to use floss on your card. How easy is that? Here is my attempt at using floss.

For my card I used Creeper Wednesday and while I was coloring her up all I could think about was the show Hell's Kitchen. Wednesday just looked like she was just the gal to give Chef Ramsey a run for his money. So I kind of colored her up as a chef. I added floss bows to her hair and to the buttons. I used my Dynamo label maker for the sentiment. I pulled the red paper from my scrap bin and stamped the black punchnella looking background. I also masked the white background before stamping the black dots. Wednesday is colored with copics(R00, E00, E11, C00, C01, C03, C5, C7, C9, R24, R46, R59). Added a few primas with the floss adorned buttons and voila! All done.

Card Kit Fun and a Game

Hi all! It has been a while since my stamping girls Kadie and Sandra have done a card kit together. We started these kits as a way of "stamping" together since we live in different parts of the country. Each month one of us will send out a kit with an image, papers, and embellies. Then we will post our creations on the same day to see what we did. I am always blown away by the creativity of their finished products. We haven't done a kit in a while because we have all been sooo busy, but when the girls came to visit me in Maryland Sandra brought this lovely kit with her. Kadie finished her stunning card. Sandra and I got our images colored. So this time we actually got to stamp together and I loved every minute of it. This is a picture of us at a quaint little restaurant close to Downtown Baltimore called Mama's on the Half Shell. The basement is lonely without you girls.

We also decided that we would have a fun little game for our followers with prizes on each of our blogs. So you'll want to be sure to leave a comment before 9:00pm EST on Sunday to be eligible. Sorry I'm late. I had a whirlwind of a weekend with a trip to Ohio and back within a four day period. It is a 9.5 hour car ride from where I am. I wish it could have been a happier visit but grandmother passed away and I needed to be there for her and my family. So now I am playing catch-up and I fogot to forward my card to myself so that I could post it on my break today.

Farm Fresh Friday Digi-Know?

Happy Friday all! Last week at this time I had my stamping buds with me and we were hitting the DC pavement in 95 degree weather. We had the best girl weekend ever and I miss them sooo much already. I REALLY had a great time watching them color and just their process of making cards. Nothing like seeing how things are done than in person.

It is time for another The Greeting Farm challenge and this week's challege is to use a digi and a new technique. For my card I used Chibi Spain. Isn't she a doll? I colored her up with copics(R00, E00, E11, E57, E47, E49, R24, R46, R59, R81, R83, R85). My new technique is one I tried when Kadie and Sandra we visiting me. I used Candy Apple Glimmer mist on some cream paper flowers. They are really sparklie in real life. I paired her with some My Mind's Eye and Sassafrass lass paper.

A Sparklie Challenge

Happy Tuesday all!!! Yesterday was a sad day for me because my stampin' buddies had to go home. I had the best girls weekend EVER! There were many 2am nights, lots of good food, along with good conversations and many laughs. I can't wait to get together again.

A New Sparkling Stamp Company

There's a new company in town and it is called Sparkle Creations! How fabulous is that name. Not only is that the company name it is also the name of its owner Sparkle Smith. Sparkle has an awesome illustrator Aki Fukuoka. Head on over to Sparkle Creations to get a peek at all the cuteness Sparkle is bringing to the hobby.

I'm super excited to be part of Sparkle's first DT in her launch of the company. I have known Sparkle for a while now and we first met at The Greeting Farm when we both became gardeners. Then I became a Farmer and Sparkle part of the Critter Crew for The Greeting Farm. I'm always in awe at all of her creations. She knows how to pick the perfect papers and add just the right balance of embellishments. Like I said, it is an honor to be on this DT.

Farm Fresh Friday SEW Random

Claudia & Company Release Day!!

For my cards, the first two use some Sassafrasslass and My Mind's Eye designer paper. Since the two puddle jumpers looked like the went together I used the same layout just tweeked a little to make them seem different. For the last card I used a piece of my scrap paper that had clouds and I thought went well with the kite. The images are colored with copics.

I'm baaaaa-ack with another TGF Preview...as it's June 29th and we are CREEPIN' up on our July 1st RELEASE at the GREETING FARM!

Today we have a digital stamp preview to compliment some VERY creepy stuff you may have seen over on the Club Anya and Friends Blog today....if you haven't seen, CHECK IT OUT! They previewed TWO new Creepers coming to you in RUBBAH on July 1st, "Monday Creeper and "Wednesday Creeper".

On that note, I bring you "Creeper Jack"! This dapper dude is a little bit punk, a little bit emo, and a LOT CUTE (don't you DIG that hair?!?!) and will be released as a digi on July 1st.

For my card, I turned to a old paper stake from We R Memory Makers. It has a bunch of very hip papers in it and I thought this one complimented Jack's edginess. I also added a small piece of punchnella that the talented Farmer Randi was so generous to share with me. I colored Jack with copics and added the Chill Out seniment from the My Guy Ian set.

Hello, everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

It's preview time again at The Greeting Farm and first up, we have brand new Chibis from artist Jessica Hymas! It seems that our little resident Chib has become QUITE the world traveler! These brand new digis will be released on July 1st and just might be the cutest chibis yet!

There are FIVE new chibis in all, but today I have the pleasure of introducing you to AFRICA Chibi! Isn't she cute? I really wanted to keep the colors earthy so I paired her with some fabulous K&Company DP and I colored her with copics. I also used gold spica on her jewelry but that doesn't show up too well.

The TGF Farmers have a LOT more to show you today on the TGF Blog, and one lucky winner will take home ALL FIVE of these babies, so if you haven't made it over there yet, be sure to check it out!

Farm Fresh Friday Let's Sketch

Yay! It is Friday and that means it is time for another Farm Fresh Friday Challenge at the Greeting Farm blog. This week's Challenge is brought to you by the super sweet and oh so talented Farmer Cindy! She has given us a sketch to work with and here it is:

For my card I used Edward from the fabulous Roll Call Set to prepare myself fo rthe release of Eclipse next week. My husband is already prepared to make fun of me. Thanks honey! I colored Edward with copics and paired him some Cosmo Cricket paper and the sentiment is also from that paper.

Sorry for my extended absence, I went on a family vacation to Myrtle Beach mid-week last week and we got home Tuesday night, but DH was going on travel the next morning so I had to catch up on laundry, and then on Wednesday night I had to prepare myself for an interview for a promotion on Thursday. Keeping my fingers crossed. Anyway since I was not able to post last week's three button challenge card I'm including it this week and here it is:

For this card I used Jade from the Roll Call Kit and I also used a Club Anya Saturday Sketch from a few weeks ago. Jade is colored with copics and paired with some bright and fun Stampin' Up paper.

Happy Friday! Today is a start of a whole new adventure for Claudia & Company. What is you may ask? Well Claudia is starting a monthly challenges and guess what there will be prizes, but you have to visit the C&C blog for all the details. How EXCITING is that???!!!

So to get you started here is the challenge it is a sketch. It leaves a lot of room to be creative.

I tried to color her as an Irish Princess my copic markers. I have found even with I have, I could use a few more. LOL. I hope get a chance to play along.

Farm Fresh Friday Sketch

It is that time again and The Greeting Farm blog has a fabulous sketch for you by our very own Mercy! Now I had just got some fabulously fun paper from Papertrey Ink and just had to use the fabulous colors in this weeks cards. I LOOOOVED Mercy's sketch so much I decided I needed to do a his and hers card using Jeremy and Miko from the outrageously generous Roll Call kit. I pretty much stuck with the sketch. Why mess with perfection right? I think my flower treatment is a little different but the sam idea is there. I colored these cuties up copics and used my Fiskars border punch to get that scallop edge.

Thank you all for the well wishes for DD. I thought she was better yesterday since she slept all through the night without any incidents and wanted bacon with blue berry muffins for breakfast. Well as we were finishing brushing her teeth for bed she got that look on her fast and then she got sick again. Poor baby. I hate it when kiddos are sick. I just feel so helpless. Hopefully today goes smooth.

Fun in the SUN

Happy Thursday all! Yesterday sure was one of those days. I just got out of training class for lunch and had a message on my phone from daycare that DD had got sick four times and that I needed to get her. So I went to pick her up and then had to go back to work with DD in tow to pick up my training materials and let the instructor know that I probably wouldn't be back the next day either. On the way down DD got sick 2 more times and once on the way home, then several times before the evening. FINALLY a couple hours before bed she was able to hold down some popcorn, apple, and string cheese. It's days like these that I wish I was a stay at home mom and maybe could have prevented DD from getting sick in the first place.

On a happier note this sunshine filled card is part of a card kit that was sent to Sandra and myself from Kadie. It is our little way to stamp "together". We take turns sending the kit filled with an image and provide some designer papers and embellies. I always look forward to see what the girls put in the kits and how we all put them together. Kadie sent us this Little Ducky Gorjuss Girl to play with. Isn't she darling? I tried to create sunshine at the top of the card and water at the bottom with the striped paper tying them together. I colored the image with copics and sanded the edges of the designer paper. I adhered some DP with glue to a chipboard flower from the kit then sanded the edges.

Sweet Face

Happy Monday! Did you have a great weekend? I have a lot of sprouts to show you this week and I'm going to kick it off with sweet faced Nahla who is part of the GINORMOUS Roll Call set at The Greeting Farm. Nahla is going to be going to a special stamping friend who will be celebrating her birthday in about 2 weeks. For my card I colored Nahla with copics and used some October Afternoon DP. I tried to mimic the background paper with the colors of the flower. I added some blue bling to help tie in the blue in her eyes and jumper. I used my scallop edge scissors for the small scallop and my Stampin' Up scallop punch for the bigger scallops.

Farm Fresh Friday Bejeweled and Bedazzled

Yay! It is Friday! I'm sooo looking forward to the weekend. Even though I just had a long weekend with the Memorial Day holiday, it was just so jam packed that I'm ready for a relaxing weekend.

This week's challenge at The Greeting Farm Blog is to create a card or project based on your favorite piece of jewelry, maybe a fun Etsy shoppe piece, your birthstone, whatever! There is soo much cool stuff over at etsy. I decided to do two cards. I used a necklace from RachelleD and another from sabineajewelry. Aren't they awesome? Since I didn't really want to bling a boy card too much I opted for a button.

My first card uses Fleur Anya along with Anya Says and my second card uses Dylan from the HUGE Roll Call set. Both images are colored with copics. The second card also uses a sketch from Papercrafts Go-to Sketches. I believe the papers on the first card are from Stampin' Up and the papers on the second card are from Queen & Co.

Fresh Brewed Designs Release Day

It is release Day at Fresh Brewed Designs if you joined me from the awesome Carolyn's blog then you are on the right track. Sorry I was late to the party.

Heather from Fresh Brewed Designs is releasing some super cute summery images today and I used her Sunday Hannah for my card. Isn't she lovely? I colored Hannah with copics and paired her with some paper from my scrap bin. I used some K&Company paper lace and a lovely big flower. It is hard to believe it is summer already. It just seems like yesterday I was shoveling 16" of snow off the ground from a wild winter storm.

Before I get into all the fabulous releases I just wanted to give myself a little toot for making Fab 5 over at 2 Sketches 4 You. Eek!!! It was my Lollipop card I made for Sandra's birthday.

Okay now to get back on track. It is release day over at Die Cuts R Us and have we got a treat for you! Miss LoRi has created her signature Ella the Elphant and along with her side kick Sammy. Claudia has created a lovely Quinceanera/Birthday Princess set and a vertical Sentiment set called So Random Sentiments. The DT has created some awesome inspiration for you.

My first card uses the Birthday Princess from the Quinceanera/Birthday Princess set. I paper pieced her dress and paired her with some papers from my scraps. I used and EK success punch for the white border and added some pearls to the center of the flowers. I colored this lovely up copics. I also used Sweet Sunday Sketch #71 for the layout.

My second card uses LoRi's Ella Elephant and one of the vertical sentiments. I colored Ella with copics(R81, R83, R85 for the pink and some chaulk for the cheeks). I used my white Jelly Roll pen to add white dots to the bows on Ella. I paired her with some Basic Grey and round two corners with a corner punch.

My last card uses Sammy Elephant. Isn't he sweet? I colored Sammy with copics and again used a little chaulk for the cheeks. I paired him with some October Afternoon paper and I used another sentiment from Random Sentiments.

Aren't these fabulous! There are so many uses for these and I bet the rest of the DT has some amazing inspiration for you. Release Party and Retro Fab

It is release night for The Greeting Farm and there are THREE NEW CHEEKIES and a new AMELIA and OLIVER set. Are you excited? To go along with release night there will be chatting with the DT and YOU over at Papercraft Planet starting at 7pm CST until 10 pm CST. We would loooove it if you could join us on the hop and at Papercraft. There is also a challenge. The challenge is to create a RETRO FAB or SHAB FAB themed card.

I decided to go retro with mine. You might be wondering how this is retro, well in my mind I was thinking of days when women would have their hair and make-up done to great their husband's when they came home from work(1950s?). I also remember watching old black and white movies where women were always so put together just to go on a Sunday ride with the family. I used Odette from the insane stamps O'plenty Roll Call set from The Greeting Farm. I colored Odette with copics and paired her with some fun Cosmo Cricket paper. I also used Mojo Monday #141 for the layout.

For my card I used Cheeky Beauty. This lovely gal will be released on June 1st. When I saw her, the colors of the challenge, and with it being strawberry season I just kept thinking about a strawberry festival queen. You can't see it in the picture but the white trim on her dress and her shoes have diamond stickles on them just to glam her up a bit. The paper is from My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon, and Papertrey Ink. I added some pink bling crystals and a couple flowers to make it a little bit more girly. Beauty is colored with copics.

Reasons to Celebrate!!!

Today is the day that I get to let you in on a little secret of mine. I can't believe I actually made it this long, but here goes...for the next three months I get to design for Claudia & Company!!!! Eeeeek!!! Puddle Jumpers, Lollipops, and many cuu-uuute designs OH MY! I am joined by four other very talented gals that I can't wait to get to know better. They are Krista Van Tol, Sheri Gilson, Tracy Clemente, and Lisa Hjulberg. Thank you Claudia (Owner) and Lori (DT Coordie and Designer) for this wonderful opportunity to design for Claudia & Company.

Today's card celebrates many things...my DT position, the new Lollipop digis at Die Cuts R Us, and a very dear friend's birthday who actually gave me this stamp for my birthday. Happy Birthday Sandra!!! Your card will be on its way to you today. She will be celebrating in just a few days. So go leave her some birthday wishes. I colored this Lollipop Hannah with copics and I want to say that this paper is My Mind's Eye. I used my scallop scissors for the border and broke out my sewing machine. Mommy's Little Ballerina

Farm Fresh Friday

Finally Friday is here. This week just really seemed to drag and I think mostly because I haven't been feeling good for about a week. At first the thoughts were that I had strep but that test came back negative and then yesterday they took some blood to see if perhaps it could be mono. I'm hoping for just a typical cold that will be over in a few more days.

This week's challenge from The Greeting Farm is to create a card using the above sketch created by...you guessed it...me. I used digital papers and elements to create the sketch. For my card I used Paul. He is one of ten Sprouts in the newly released Roll Call set. Isn't he just handsome? I colored Paul up with my copic markers and paired him with some Pebbles paper. I also used some washi tape that you can now get at The Greeting Farm store. This stuff is awesome for adding a little extra detail and it is removable yet has plenty of sticking power.

Freshly Brewed Challenges

Sorry for being late. I forgot to publish, instead I was still in draft.

Is it Friday yet? Well maybe it is just Wednesday but that means it is Freshly Brewed Challenges day. This is our third challenge and this one is really fun...okay they are all fun, but this week's theme is BYOC(Bring Your Own Coffee)! Of course if, coffee isn't your cup of tea then you can use a different beverage. Even though water is my favorite beverage coffee is my second.

For my card I used Heather's So Happy Together image. I love the stripes combined with the polka dots. I colored the cups up with my copics and paired it with some Basic Grey dp. I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #74 for the layout.

Chapter 13: Mushroom Inspiration

Oh dear! I'd nearly forgotten that I've got to grow up again! Let me see--how IS it to be managed? I suppose I ought to eat or drink something or other; but the great question is, what?

Alice looked all round her at the flowers and the blades of grass, but she did not see anything that looked like the right thing to eat or drink under the circumstances. There was a large mushroom growing near her, about the same height as herself; and when she had looked under it, and on both sides of it, and behind it, it occurred to her that she might as well look and see what was on the top of it..."

For my card I used Sassy Alice and colored her with copics. I tried to pull a lot of the colors out of the inspiration picture. I think I missed light purple. I also tried a little something different with Alice's hair. When I was in my dentist office a few weeks ago I noticed that one of the receptionists had blonde hair on top with black hair on the underneath. It looked pretty cool. Not a look I could pull off, but I made note to try it out on some images. Well this image just called for the two-tone look. I think it adds to the Sassy. What do you think, thumbs up or down? I used Basic Grey DP and it doesn't show up on the camera but the flowers have Twilight glimmer mist on them and the white trim on her dress has glitter spica on them.

Farm Fresh Friday Seeing Pink

Happy Friday all!!! I don't know where the week has gone, but I'm sure glad it is Friday. Besides DD's ballet class on Saturday morning, I plan to take it easy. I've had too many busy weekends in a row. I'm ready for a lazy one.

This week's challenge is monochromatic shades of pink. For my card, I used a new Jessica Hymas image called Chibi Trumpet. Isn't she just pure sweetness? A whole band of cute Chibi's will be released tomorrow along with the Roll Call set and Marina Neira images. Can you stand it? I also used the bracket and sentiment from the very versatile Spotlight Scrapbooking set . Do you see those those three "ribbons"? That is a new product at The Greeting Farm called Washi tape. This is my first time using it and I LOOOVE it. The paper is from a K&Company Valentine's pack I've had for a couple years. Just to add a little sparkle, I put diamond stickles on her trumpet, shoes, and hair clips. I also added in some highlights to the hair with a white jelly roll pen. For the layout, I used Mojo Monday #138. Also I would like to welcome three of the newest Critter Crew members Amber, Jen, and Shaela! Welcome ladies. I'm thrilled to have you on the farm. Copic Color Cards

I've been wanting to do this for a while now. I know that I have learned a lot of coloring from others who have listed their copics formulas. These are my most go to colors.

The skin is something that I normally start with and it is a bit of a shocker until you get the hair colored. I always start with the skin. I'll sometimes also use my Asian skin for fair caucasion skin. On the light skin tones I start with a base of the lightest color, then put in the shadows and cheeks, and follow up with more of the lightest shade. For the darker colored skins I will do the shadows and cheeks first then use the lightest color to blend. Otherwise the skin may get too dark with multiple light color passes.

For the hair I will take it in sections. I will color a section in entirely with the lightest color then take the medium color and feather shade it from either end of the section leaving some of the lighter color showing in the midddle. I will do the same feather technique with the darkest color but not have the sweeps go out as far as the medium color. I follow up with the lightest color again using the feather technique but take it to through the light middle section. I think it helps blend everything together and give the hair extra texture. Then I move onto another section of the hair. The image I used is Ebony's head from The Greeting Farm for my samples. I hope you have found this information useful and thanks for stopping by.
